Support Glenn Trowbridge for City Council

Glenn Trowbridge is running for the Las Vegas City Council in Ward 4, which is being vacated by Clark County Commissioner-Elect Larry Brown.

Glenn has extensive knowledge and experience with local government, having served in various capacities for over 25 years. Most importantly, Glenn served as the Director of Parks and Recreation for Clark County for over 22 years. He personally understands the importance of youth sports and supports the expansion of recreational youth programs. Under his administration, he was responsible for the construction of many parks, including Desert Breeze Park, and participated in the development of funding for the Bettye Wilson Soccer Park, which has been the greatest asset for youth soccer leagues. He knows how parks are funded and built, as well as the importance of scheduling and maintaining parks. Glenn’s professional knowledge and skills as an advocate for public parks were recognized when he was elected as the national president of the National Association of County Parks and Recreation Officials.

In these tough economic times, there is a danger that other priorities could take precedence over funding quality parks and recreational activities. Glenn will make sure that we don’t lose sight of the important role that parks and athletic fields play in the lives of our children and families. As new money is available for additional parks, he will work with us to make sure these funds are put to the best possible use. We are confident in Glenn’s ability and commitment to continue vibrant youth sports programs in the City of Las Vegas, and particularly in Ward 4.

If Glenn is successful in his bid for this City Council seat, he will be assuming the seat previously held by Larry Brown. US Youth Soccer of Nevada wishes to extend its heartfelt thanks to Larry for his tireless support of youth sports over the past decade. His accomplishments in this area are many, including the development of the Bettye Wilson and Kellogg Zaher Soccer Complexes. Without Larry’s support, it is doubtful that these world-class facilities would have been built. Beyond the development of these fine facilities, Larry has also been a strong supporter of funding for the maintenance of City parks and for the quality programming of the facilities.

We are truly thankful for all of his efforts, and wish him the best in his new position as Clark County Commissioner.
